Discover Aqueduct Buffet this Thanksgiving. The 400-seat eatery inside Resorts World Casino New York City (GMAP) will offer traditional holiday fare and international cuisine for only $29.99 from 11 am to 10 pm.
The LIC Partnership, an organization dedicated to advocating for economic development that benefits Long Island City, is hosting their annual trade show tomorrow, Wednesday November 14 from 9am-2pm. At this free event, you’ll have the chance to visit with over 130 exhibitors, as well as spend time networking with other businesses and attendees (over 3,500 people are expected to attend the event). This is a great opportunity to meet new clients and vendors. The trade show really is one of the premier business networking events in Queens.
We’ve heard from multiple sources that Astoria Park may become home to a ski slope this winter. Community Board 1 voted last week to approve the proposal presented to bring a ski slope, equipment (including a snow maker), and a changing area to the park at the height of the cold season. The Vermont-based ski resort Sugarbush would build the temporary slope, and for six-weeks in February and March, the Great Meadow in Astoria Park will be the location of the ski slope. (more…)
Music Mondays: Pepper Coat – Stop by Sweet Afton in Astoria tonight at 9pm for the latest installation of their Music Mondays series. Pepper Coat, “the musical alter-ego of Edmund Lawrence Kasubinski III” will be playing live with guitar and harmonica in hand. Taste of Sunnyside 3 – Tonight is the Taste of Sunnyside, now in its third year. Head to this charming Queens neighborhood to sample Japanese, Mexican, French, Italian, Thai, Filipino, American, and Irish food from restaurants around the neighborhood.
