Valerie Green is about to take off one of her hats…and she’s going to do it in grand style. This weekend, the artistic director and choreographer for Long Island City-based Dance Entropy and founder of Green Space studio will end the dancing aspect of her career after about two decades on the New York City scene. Valerie Green Dance Entropy "Begin Again"

Green will present Succession, a solo retrospective that channels her life cycle. The piece starts with the performer channeling the fluid movements of a fetus in the amniotic sac en route to a finale based on her work over the past decade. Through her movements, she explores transformation, aging, and the disruption of order among an installation of hundreds of flowers. Succession concludes with a spiritual burial of the past followed by a symbolic rebirth in the planting of oneself.

Details: Succession: A One-Woman Retrospective Odyssey, Green Space, 37-24 24th Street, Suite 301, Long Island City, March 13th and March 14th at 8 pm, March 15th at 5 pm, $17/$20 at the door.
