This Bed Stuy house, at 439 Lexington Avenue, is completely renovated in a modern style. Your basic flip job, sold at foreclosure auction last year according to Property Shark, it’s on the market for $1,295,000, listed by Brooke Safford at Corcoran.

It’s a standalone house – no neighbor to either side. On one side of the house is a shared driveway.

Whether you’d like living next to a parking lot and across from an auto shop is another matter to consider. A check of the street view on Google Maps does not suggest there’s vibrant stoop life to be found on this stretch.

Inside it’s modern and sparse. The bottom floor is open plan, all the rage at the moment, with a wood-burning fireplace done up in some kind of stone or stone-like material that runs floor to ceiling.

The kitchen is minimalist, with a fairly small number of lacquered white cabinets. In the image, appliances are also small in number – zero, to be exact, but “top of the line” ones are promised.

There’s an open staircase done up in glass. It leads up to two floors of bedrooms.

On the top floor is a giant master bedroom – around 360 square feet – with a giant walk-in closet. The second floor holds two smaller bedrooms.

There’s a hookup for a washer-dryer in the finished basement. There’s mini-split-system air conditioning and heating.

Does this add up to a $1,295,000 house? Tell us what you think.

  1. I actually like the austerity of the interior, it’s clean and modern. Now, the location is another matter altogether, if someone told me 25 years ago Bed Stuy would have homes selling for over 1 mln, I would think they were on drugs.

  2. It’s new and clean but horrible location next to parking lot and across from commercials driveways. The look and finishes will age terribly. No charm. Nothing appealing but I guess it’s a renovated single family and that has a value in our market these other factors notwithstanding.
