Los Verdes, a Colombian restaurant based in Miami, is coming to Sunnyside

The Sunnyside Shines folks shared with us news about Los Verdes, a new Colombian restaurant, opening up in the neighborhood:

Los Verdes, a Miami-based Colombian restaurant, will open its first New York City location in Sunnyside next week!  Please join them on January 17 at 9:00pm for their grand opening event.  Located at the corner of 47th Street and Greenpoint Avenue, Los Verdes offers fresh, upmarket Colombian fast food and drinks, including kernel corn, quesadillas, hot dogs, grilled platters, homemade coleslaw, beers and fresh juices.  They will feature late night hours until 3:00am during the week and 6:00am on the weekends.

We love Colombian food, so we’re definitely intrigued. The food on their Facebook page looks pretty tasty (quesadillas, burgers, fries topped with myriad things, empanadas, Postobon). We will definitely have to give it a chance.
