Did you know that March 20 is Macaron Day NYC? If you’re going to try a macaron, this would be the day, though, frankly we believe there is never a bad day for macarons. So what’s the deal with macarons having their own day? Read on:

In 2010, François Payard, chef and owner of FP Patisserie and François Payard Bakery in New York, organized the first annual Macaron Day in NYC. Macaron Day NYC is inspired by and coincides annually with the Jour du Macaron in Paris, created by la Maison Pierre Hermé Paris in association with the Relais Desserts.

Macarons will be highlighted throughout the city and here in Queens you can head to Cannelle Patisserie in Jackson Heights (75-59 31st Avenue – GMAP) to receive a free macaron. You must tell the shop you are there for Macaron Day NYC. Quantities may be limited.

Here’s to macarons! And to spring – March 20 is the Vernal Equinox. That sounds like an amazing combination.
