Last week Pardon Me For Asking noticed that the Union Smith Cafe, which was recently shut down by the DOH, has closed for good. At first she heard the place was going to be replaced with Italian, but more recently it was confirmed that a Mexican restaurant would be moving in instead. Good fit? GMAP

I like Americanized mexican food, so I like Lobo. Actually, I think Rachael’s in PS is the best one in this area.
Union Smith wasn’t bad- I ate there maybe 5 times, and each time it was pretty good. A little pricey for me, though.

There is a Mezcal’s around the corner from me in Bay Ridge, always been afraid to try.

Calexico on Union and Columbia has phenomenal tacos
Mezcals on Court isn’t great but they actually make a good margarita and have a nice backyard
Have heard the deli formerly known as F line bagels has great tamales
Yeah, Mezcal’s is pretty bad. They have two locations on 5th and they both blow.
Mezcals is vile.
At least the one on 5th Avenue is.
