I have an old fishing charter poster that based on the printing, I’m assuming was from the 50’s or 60’s for a boat that was docked on the Gowanus. Somehow in my mind, fishing and Gowanus should never be mentioned in the same breath. That being said, two or three years ago when the flushing tunnel was running with some regularity, there were regular anglers who fished the canal.
Planning a Gowanus fishing trip? If so, the weather is the least of your problems.

I would pair a vintage Thunderbird wine to complement the fish’s subtle hints of PCBs and effluence.
