We don’t have a lot of details, but we’re sad to report that there was an attempted rape early yesterday morning at the corner Gates and Downing in the eastern part of Clinton Hill. Because the incident is currently under investigation by the special victims square, officials are remaining tight-lipped. One thing we have been able to gather is that the incident, which took place between 4 and 5 a.m. Thursday morning, involved two people who were already acquainted in some way; it was not a random act of assault. We’ve received a number of emails from concerned area residents, who have not forgotten the rape that happened at the same time of day less than three months ago in a vacant lot just half a block from this site. Adding to the creepiness of this situation, this corner has recently become a daycare center for young children. In related news, the Wall Street Journal is reporting this morning that Brooklyn has the state largest gang population. Pleasant. Update: A police officer told a commenter that it was a prostitution trick gone wrong and that it was “attempted” rape.

  1. “Besides Crispus Attucks, name another of the bostonians killed at the Boston Massacre”

Sam Gray, Sam Maverick, James Caldwell. The other one was Irish but I can’t remember his name.

  2. when i lived in the area there was always a certain amount of prostitution in this area. i’m a little surprised it’s still going on, but i guess i’m not sure if there are significant attempts made to help women get out of it.

  3. In the same neighborhood: Did you read they arrested some naked guy doing drugs in the women’s bathroom in the middle of the afternoon at Crispus Attucks Playground at Fulton and Irving? I think the bathrooms at that playground are the closet public restrooms to the giant mens homeless shelter on Bedford. Extra credit: Besides Crispus Attucks, name another of the bostonians killed at the Boston Massacre.

Shocking news. Brooklyn is grossly overvalued. A fairyland Brooklyn was a nice fantasy while it lasted.

NYPD has done a wonderful job keeping NYC the safest big city in the world. Look around the country we are much better off than most.

the policy of allowing section 8 vouchers to be used anywhere in the country was also a huuuuuuuge part of the reduction in crime. the crimes all spread out in the suburbs now.
