Silk Cakes Opens in Forest Hills This Saturday

The Manhattan bakery Silk Cakes is opening its Forest Hills outpost this Saturday. Silk Cakes specializes in wedding and specialty cakes — the Manhattan location is by appointment only, but the Forest Hills store will be open to the public and will sell coffees and teas. This location is 1,500 square feet and located at 98-14 Metropolitan Avenue, between 69th Road and 70th Avenue. Edge of the City reports that the owner of Silk Cakes, Judy Lai, is “known for Asian inspired designs and unique flavor combinations.” Some of the flavors include a chocolate cake with green tea butter cream and semi sweet chocolate truffle and a black sesame cake with yuzu butter cream with green tea truffle.

Starting Saturday, the bakery will be open 8 am to 7 pm on Tuesday through Sunday and closed on Mondays.
