The Holocenter, previously located in the LIC Clocktower Building, is moving to Governor’s Island for the summer. The arts center announced that they will hold public gallery hours from 12 to 6 pm on Saturdays and Sundays inside one of the island’s turn-of-the-century houses in Nolan Park. According to the Holocenter, “You can expect to see more puzzling and tantalizing works of holographic artistry from May 24th until August 11th at house 4B. Summer exhibitions at the other houses on Nolan Park will be produced by the Rubin Museum of Art, the International Center for Photography, the Museum of Math and a number of art galleries and cultural organizations.” It is unclear what’s happening at the Clocktower, which sold to a new owner.

You can see a little more of the Holocenter’s work in Queens at the LIC Arts Open event, happening May 14th through the 18th. They will present a pop-up exhibition on Saturday, May 17th at the LIC warehouse space 5-25 46th Avenue. The doors open at 6pm and performances begin at 8pm.
