We’ve been keeping an eye on the impending opening of Vietnamese restaurant Cyclo in LIC (GMAP), and looks like it’s opening today. Western Queens denizens have been clamoring for Vietnamese food to come to the edge of the borough (there’s more of it further east), and we are hopeful this spot will rock. And as more people find their way to LIC, and bring with them varying demands, we also hope that the variety of food options will increase (where’s the Ethiopian food?!)

Of course, Manhattan has had Vietnamese restaurants for a long time, and Elmhurst has been lucky, lucky, lucky to have Pho Bac, and JoJu in its midst, what with their amazing banh mi sandwiches (the Linsanity – Taiwanese 3 cup chicken and a spicy green sauce is one of the many memorable ones) and kick ass bubble tea (get the mango stars!). Anyway, we are super excited about Cyclo and can’t wait to fill our bellies with their food.

Cyclo (opening Friday 8/17/12), 5-51 47th Ave., Long Island City, NY 11101
